Privacy Policy

Last updated October 20, 2026

BuyNextDoor (“BuyNextDoor”, “we”, “us”) runs an online marketplace where you can buy from sellers in your neighborhood, and a platform for the sellers and suppliers who stock it. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173).

1. Information we collect

When you create an account: your name, email address, mobile number and password. Your password is stored only in a hashed form that we cannot read. You may add a profile photo.

When you sign in with Google or Facebook: the name, email address and account ID that Google or Facebook shares with us, and nothing else. We never see your Google or Facebook password.

When you place an order: the delivery or pickup details you give us (recipient name, mobile number, address and, if you drop a pin, the map location), the items you ordered, and the payment method you chose.

When you pay: if you pay by bank transfer or e-wallet, the receipt you upload. Payments made through an online payment provider, such as a seller’s subscription, are handled by that provider: we receive the payment reference and whether it succeeded, never your card details.

When you message a seller or our team: the messages and pictures you send. Our support team can see conversations between buyers and sellers, to help resolve problems with orders and to stop abuse.

When you review an order: your ratings, comments and photos, which may be shown publicly on the product and seller pages.

If you sell or supply through BuyNextDoor: the details we need to verify you and pay you, such as your legal and business names, contact details, government-issued ID, TIN, business registration or permits, store photos, and the bank or e-wallet account your earnings are paid to.

Automatically: when you sign in, your IP address and the type of device and browser you use, to keep your account secure. If something breaks, an error report with technical details of what went wrong.

2. How we use it

  • To run your account and sign you in.
  • To take your orders to the seller who fulfils them, arrange delivery or pickup, and keep you updated about them.
  • To send one-time codes by SMS when you verify your mobile number or sign in.
  • To process payments, refunds, and seller and supplier payouts.
  • To verify sellers and suppliers before they can sell.
  • To answer your questions and resolve problems with orders.
  • To protect accounts and the marketplace from fraud and abuse.
  • To send you news and offers by email or SMS, if you are subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time; every such email has a link to do it.
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • The seller who fulfils your order — your name, contact number, address and what you ordered, so they can prepare and deliver it.
  • Payment providers that process online payments for us.
  • Service providers that run parts of our service for us: hosting and storage (Google Cloud, Vercel), email and SMS delivery, and error monitoring. They may use your information only to provide that service to us.
  • Google or Facebook, only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Government authorities, when the law requires it.

4. Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: keeping you signed in and protecting forms from forgery. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your cart may be saved in your browser so it is still there when you come back.

5. How we keep it safe

Your information is stored on Google Cloud servers and sent over encrypted connections. Identity and business documents are kept in private storage that is not publicly reachable, and staff access to personal information is limited to the people who need it for their work. Some of our service providers may process information outside the Philippines; when they do, we require them to protect it to the standard of this policy.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. After you close it, we keep only what we need to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations or to resolve disputes, and delete the rest.

7. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your personal information is processed;
  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • object to processing, and withdraw consent you have given;
  • have your information erased or blocked;
  • receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
  • be indemnified for damages from unlawful processing; and
  • file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

You can update most of your details yourself from your account. For anything else, email us at the address below.

8. Deleting your account and data

To delete your account and the personal information attached to it, email support@buynextdoor.ph from the email address on your account. If you signed in with Facebook, you can also remove BuyNextDoor in Facebook under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites; Facebook will send us a deletion request, and you can follow its progress on our data deletion page.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will also tell you by email or on the site.
